Our Employee Onboarding platform comes packed with different task types to make your onboarding process smooth and efficient—like a well-oiled hiring machine! Below is a breakdown of each task type, all of which you can access under the QuickTask menu. These kinds of tasks can also be grouped together in Workflows

Task Types Explained

Send a Document

Use this task when you need a new hire to receive a document. For example, if reviewing the Company Handbook is part of onboarding, you can attach the document to the task, and the employee will be able to view it.

Options available:

  • Require a signature
  • Require a signature with a disclosure statement

(Basically, it ensures they’ve read it—not just skimmed the first page before clicking "Agree.")

Request a Document

Need a new hire to send something back? This task is your go-to! Whether it’s a required compliance document or a certification, this type allows employees to upload a document as proof of completion.

Common uses:

  • Signed copies of agreements
  • Certifications or licenses
  • Any other important paperwork you need from them

Send a Form

When you need an employee to fill out an online form, this task type makes it easy. Even better? Our Form Builder can auto-detect fields from your uploaded PDF, so you don’t have to manually create them.

Bonus options:

  • Require a signature
  • Require a signature with a disclosure statement

(Less manual work for you, more "Wow, this is so easy!" moments for your new hires.)

Send a Tax Document

Need to send tax forms? This task type lets you send Federal and State W-4s and W-9s for employees to complete and sign.

You can include:

  • One or more tax documents
  • Digital signatures for easy processing

(Because dealing with tax forms is never fun, but at least this makes it painless.)

Send a Single To-Do

For tasks that don’t require document exchange, use this option! Think of it as a simple checklist item—like reminding a new hire to review their company profile or watch a welcome video.

Features:

  • Employees can manually mark the task as complete
  • Option to include a URL for reference

(A great way to ensure they actually see that super-cool welcome video you worked so hard on!)
